PROFInet is available as a specification and as software.
The PROFInet specification describes all the aspects of
PROFInet: object and component model, runtime communication,
proxy concept,engineering, as well as the new parts Soft
Realtime (SRT), network management, and web integration.
The PROFInet Software is an operating system independent
implementation of the PROFInet Runtime.
It is available
as source code.
To download the PROFInet Runtime Software, please go to
the downloads area. It is available for PI members only.
With this combination of specification and operating system
independent source code it became possible to easily and
efficiently integrate PROFInet into many different products.
